Aromatherapy Workshop, presented by Athena Yanas on Friday evening, frm 7 - 9:00 pm, October 24 ($15) Join us to learn about the ancient use of essential oils, known today as aromatherapy. THis 2 hour workship will teach you how it works on the body, mind and spirit and the many, varied therapeutic benefits of awakening the senses.

Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream:

A symposium to help our area residents respond to global issues such as climate change, poverty and economic crisis will take place at Botanical Bay Bookstore on Ledgewood Avenue in Netcong, NJ, from 2:00 - 6:00 pm, this Sunday October 5th.

It is an opportunity for everyone to understand what is happening and to consider how we all play a part in addressing these problems and creating a world that works sustainably for us and for future generations. Participants will explore our culture and how this contributes to these problems in a workshop that uses inspiring video, up-to-the-minute facts and figures and dynamic group interaction. We'll hear from some of the world's leading experts on topics as diverse as the current state of the Earth's bio-diversity and the reality of socio-economic disparity throughout the world. Through this enquiry each individual will discover the uique stand that they wish to take for a more just, sustainable, and fulfilling world.

Empowering participants with a new vision: Share your concerns about the state of the world with like-minded members of of your community, and offer support to each other in taking steps to effect the changes that you wish to see. Participants will leave the Symposium empowered to take clear steps to embody their vision for a better works, and having established new connections to work with others on common issues. On a Tuesday or Wednesday evening in the middle of month, every month, we will bring a reknown folklorist, genealogist or historian to the shop who will present a fascinating look at some topic of New Jersey history. We're Celebrating the Fall Season with Half-Priced Books

That's right -- come to our store to experience reading in a whole new light. All our books are 1/2 list price, or as marked (with a small rectangular price tag, and that *is* the price). We have a delightfully gurgling fountain to warm you up when the mud season gets you down, and Spring feels like it is taking too long arrive. Come browse in our tropical surroundings, listen to some Mozart, and find some old favorites, new authors and different titles to entertain and enlighten you all year long!

Yes, come see our fun card games. We have Rain Forest card games, old standards like Old Maid, and many new decks of cards featuring American and Women authors as well as classic illuminated decks reproduced from Civil War era cards. We also have fun new games like Jekyll & Hyde Rummy and QuickWord! We have Legacy paper dolls featuring literary characters like Emma, Mr. Darcy, Tom Saywer and Huck Finn, Louisa May Alcott's March sisters from the Little Women, Romeo & Juliet...and historical characters like Sally Hemmings!
