Boards are stained, scuffed on the extremities, the spine is missig for a good inch at the head & tail, inbetween, it is well worn. Single signature sewn in, the stitches show at the hinges. a gift inscription dated June 16, 1929 on half title. Colophon on title page. Drawings by Ruth Hambridge accompany Mother Goose nursery rhymes, some I've heard before, such as The man in the wilderness asked me,/How many strawberries grew in the sea?/I answered him as I thought good,/As many as red herrings grew in the wood. in addition to the classics like Hickory, dickery, dock.
